The Vaccine Subcommittee will report recommendations to the SDMAC, which is an advisory committee appointed by the DHS Secretary under ss. 15.04 (1) (c) and 252.02 (6), Stats. The SDMAC is responsible for developing and providing guidelines for hospitals, out-of-hospital facilities and providers, and alternate care sites on the allocation of scare resources during a public health emergency, and advising the DHS Secretary on those issues. The SDMAC created and charged the Vaccine Subcommittee with the following tasks: (1) To inform DHS policies and protocols around vaccines for COVID-19; (2) To recommend the organization level at which prioritization will occur (region, health system, county, etc.); (3) To develop criteria used to prioritize vaccine recipients; and (4) To develop considerations for multi-dose prioritization, if applicable. The subcommittee’s work will be subject to a public comment period before it is elevated to the SDMAC for further consideration.
