Members of the State Council are appointed by the Governor. The Council’s primary function is charged with providing leadership in Wisconsin around substance use disorder issues, advising Wisconsin state agencies on substance use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery activities, and coordinating substance use disorder planning and funding initiatives across state agencies. The Bureau of Prevention Treatment and Recovery within DHS staffs the Council. DHS is an equal opportunity employer and service provider.
