a. Operation Fresh Start: possible work credit or program completion
> Build Academy https://www.operationfreshstart.org/build-academy
- Eligibility: Age 18-24, HS diploma or GED/HSED, no prior experience required
- Work 32 hours per week, Mon-Thurs from 7:30am-4pm
o Tier 1: residential construction, OSHA 10, fall protection, first aid/CPR, work with BIG STEP, construction: math, layout, & blueprint reading, and pre-apprenticeship certification from BAS (Carpenter Pre-Apprenticeship Readiness Program)
o Tier 2: commercial construction, job shadow, learn how to meet efficiency standards on commercial work, build job search skills, interview skills, work on career transition plan, and apprenticeship aptitude test
> Completion of Build Academy includes placement and retention into a full-time construction job
